A Fire Officer 1 and 2 class will be held at various locations in Hampshire County starting Friday, May 6, 2011. Mike Crouse is the Instructor. The class will meet May 6, 6:30 pm, May 7 & 8, 8:00 am at North River Valley VFD; June 4 & 5, 8:00 am at Augusta VFD; June 18 & 19, 8:00 am at Slanesville VFD. Participants are required to complete a significant amount of class work outside of scheduled classes. This class combines the requirements for Fire Officer 1 and Fire Officer 2. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certificates for Fire Officer 1 and Fire Officer 2. Someone already having Fire Officer 1 must attend the entire class to certify for Fire Officer 2.
 Tuition is $60. Books are $90.



 
Search and Rescue For the Initial Response
The Pendleton County Emergency Rescue, in
conjunction with the WV Search and Rescue
Council and the WV Division of Homeland
Security and Emergency Management
(WVDHSEM) will be hosting a 16-hour Search
and Rescue for the Initial Response course on
Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 at 9AM at
the Training Center located on US Route 220 in
Upper Tract, WV.
This course is designed to provide you the needed tools to
adequately evaluate a missing person incident and to take
appropriate initial actions.  The basics of initial search planning and
tactical operations are presented.  Specialized resources and their
appropriate use are also discussed.
